Who we are

The Finance Value Score is operated by AIS Consulting, a finance-transformation consultancy. We are the data controller for everything described here. To reach a human about any of it — including a deletion request — email azim.khan@ais-consulting.co.uk.

What we collect

What	When	Why
An anonymous visitor ID (a random string in a cookie and in your browser’s local storage), the pages you view, how long the tab is actually in focus, how far you scroll, and any utm_ tags on the link that brought you here	Every page	To see which pages and articles are worth writing more of. It is not tied to a name or an email address unless you later give us one.
Your company name, work email, and the answers you set on the Snapshot — plus the score and indicative value the engine calculates from them	Only when you submit the Snapshot form	To email you the report you asked for, and so we can follow up if you reply.
Your name, email address and a hashed password	Only if you create an account	To sign you in and save your reports against your account.

Our lawful bases

• Legitimate interests — understanding how the site is used, keeping it secure, and following up on an enquiry you started by submitting the form.
• Contract — running your account and producing the reports you ask for.

What we do not do

• We do not sell, rent or share your data with third parties for their own marketing. Ever.
• We do not add you to a marketing list because you used a free tool.
• We do not use your figures in anyone else’s report or benchmark without asking you first.

Who processes it on our behalf

• Hetzner (Germany) — the servers this site and its database run on.
• Neon (EU region) — the account database behind sign-in.
• Vercel — hosting for the signed-in application.
• Microsoft 365 and Resend — sending the emails you ask us for.
• Google Analytics 4 — aggregate traffic measurement.

Our own databases are hosted in the EU. Some processors above are US-headquartered and may process data outside the UK/EEA under standard contractual clauses.

Cookies

We set one first-party cookie of our own, vm_vid, which holds the random visitor ID described above and lasts a year. Google Analytics sets its own cookies. Clearing your browser storage for this site removes both, and the site works perfectly well without them.

How long we keep it

• Analytics events — 24 months, then deleted.
• Snapshot submissions and enquiries — while there is a live conversation, and for up to 24 months after the last contact.
• Accounts — until you ask us to close the account, then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to us processing it. Email azim.khan@ais-consulting.co.uk and we will act within one month. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
